Who is responsible

Federico Atzori is responsible for the content of this website and for deciding how the limited analytics described below are used. For privacy-related questions or requests, please use the LinkedIn profile linked on this site.

Information you provide

This website does not contain contact forms, account registration, payment functions, comments, or newsletter subscriptions. It therefore does not directly ask visitors to submit personal information.

Website hosting

The site is hosted through GitHub Pages. As with any web host, GitHub may process technical request information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, browser and device information, and request date and time. This processing is governed by the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Privacy-friendly analytics

This site uses GoatCounter to understand aggregate traffic, such as page views, referring pages, approximate country, browser, operating system, language, and screen width. These statistics help identify useful content and broken links.

According to GoatCounter, its standard service does not store IP addresses, complete user-agent headers, or persistent tracking identifiers, and it does not place cookies or use local storage in visitors' browsers. IP address and user-agent information may be processed temporarily in memory to distinguish visits before aggregate statistics are produced. The legal basis for this limited measurement is the legitimate interest in understanding and maintaining the website.

More information is available in GoatCounter's privacy documentation and GDPR notes.

External fonts

The site loads IBM Plex Sans and Newsreader from Google Fonts. When these files are requested, the visitor's browser connects to Google servers and sends technical request information, including the IP address and the page making the request. Google handles that information under its Privacy Policy. The fonts are used to provide consistent typography and presentation.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site does not intentionally set advertising, profiling, or preference cookies. Under its standard configuration, GoatCounter does not store cookies, local-storage entries, or other persistent identifiers in the browser. For this reason, the current site does not display a cookie-consent banner. This policy will be updated if the services or tracking technologies used by the site change.

External links

The site links to universities, journals, repositories, social networks, and other third-party websites. Following one of these links takes you to a service governed by its own privacy practices. No information is sent to those services merely because a standard text link appears on this site.

Retention and sharing

The site owner receives aggregate analytics rather than identifiable visitor profiles. Aggregate statistics are retained only for website measurement and maintenance and may be deleted through the GoatCounter account. The site owner does not sell visitor information or use it for advertising. Hosting, font delivery, and analytics providers process technical information as described above and under their respective policies.

Your rights

Where applicable under the GDPR, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data and may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Because the analytics are aggregate and designed not to identify visitors, it may not be technically possible to associate an analytics record with a particular person.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority.

Changes to this policy

This notice may be revised if the website begins using new services or collecting information in a different way. The date at the top of the page identifies the latest revision.
